General Program Information

Billing and Scheduling

Which programs do you offer?
Excel Aquatics specializes in swim lessons for children, pre-competitive swim training for children, and swim lessons for adults.

How much are lessons?
Our updated children’s program pricing can be found HERE, and our adult program pricing can be found HERE.

How is the tuition billed?
For our consecutive weekly swim programs, tuition is billed on a monthly cycle. The first month of billing begins at the time of registration, and is billed on the first of the month thereafter. Each month is billed based on the number of scheduled classes for that given month. Families are billed monthly until they choose to withdraw; our withdrawal policy can be found HERE.

For families who register for a special pre-payment promotion (4 months, 1 year, etc), the total number of lessons for that day and time during the pre-payment duration will be used to calculate the price. Families are able to switch days/times based on available openings. When this occurs, any changes in the number of lessons used to calculate the pre-payment promotion will be adjusted by the end date of the duration. For example, if a family prepays for 1 year of lessons totaling 48 classes, then switches to a day and time that would change the total to 47 classes, the end date of the prepayment period would be pushed back 1 week so the total classes once again adjusts to 48.

For all other programs (fast track swim lessons, competitive privates, clinics), tuition is billed at the time of registration for that individual program.

In addition to program fees, there is a yearly $15 annual service fee per swimmer.

What are the acceptable methods of payment for the lessons?
At this time, the preferred method of payment is electronically through our registration system. However, if you would like to pay by cash or check, please contact us at info@goswimexcel.com.

What is the policy for make-up lessons?
Please see our Make Up Policy page for more information.

What happens if there is a cancellation of a lesson?
In the case that a facility is closed due to inclement weather, maintenance, or additional causes not controlled by Excel Aquatics, your Jackrabbit portal account will be credited for the classes cancelled due to the closure. This will be a credit, and not a refund. The credit will be applied to future tuition and cannot be converted to cash or transferred to any other party. All credits expire 1 year after the date they were applied to the account.

All slots are filled for the class I want to register for, what do I do?
If all slots for your desired classes are filled, please email us directly at info@goswimexcel.com so that we can add you to our waitlist. If a slot opens on a class, waitlisted families will be contacted in the order they submitted their waitlist applications.

Do you offer a multi-student discount?
Yes, we do! For swimmers in the same family and portal account registering for the same session, each additional swimmer after the first shall receive a 10% discount. If two or more swimmers are registered for classes of different fees, the lower of the fees shall be discounted.

We offer the opportunity to make up classes for eligible absences. Make up availability is strictly based on openings due to submitted absences. Make ups are only available for on-site, monthly based programs and are subject to availability only. Please read our absence reporting and make up protocol and policies below to better understand how our system works!

Reporting Absences

  • Absences must be submitted via our Portal in advance of your class start time by at LEAST 4 hours by clicking on the upper right menu->Absences&Makeups. Only once an absence is scheduled can you then schedule a make-up class. If you attempt to schedule an absence within 4 hours of your class start time, the system will not allow the submission, and your absence will not be eligible for a makeup.
  • You may schedule an absence from the current day (4 hours or more before your class start time) to any point in the future within the next 4 weeks. Absences cannot be submitted retroactively once your class time begins or for previous class dates. Please note that once an absence is submitted for a future date, you forgo attendance for that specific class date.
  • Please only submit absences if you would like to be eligible for a makeup AND you would like to open your absent slot for someone else to potentially fill.

Scheduling Make-ups

  • Make-up classes are also scheduled via our Portal by clicking on the upper right menu->Absences&Makeups. Make ups are subject to availability ONLY, and only classes with available openings will appear as options to be scheduled after you submit your absence. If no eligible make-up classes are present, please check back at a later date, as eligible classes with openings are updated each time another student submits an absence.
  • Make-up classes are only eligible for the same class type that you are currently enrolled in. After 6 months, make up classes within the portal account expire.
  • MAKE-UPS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE, CONDITIONAL TO AVAILABILITY, HAVE NO MONETARY VALUE AND ARE LIMITED TO STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN EXCEL PROGRAMS. ALL UNUSED MAKE-UPS EXPIRE 6 MONTHS AFTER THE ABSENCE.
  • Students must be actively enrolled on the date of their scheduled make up class. Families who schedule a make up but unenroll prior to the make up class will forfeit the make up slot.
  • There are no make-ups for makeups that are missed or cancelled.
  • Make-ups cannot be used as payment for regular classes.

Program Specific Information

Children's Learn to Swim

How do I register for kid’s swim lessons?
Registration is completed right HERE on our lessons program page. Class openings are categorized by day and time. Each month we post the available openings for the upcoming month.

Explain year-round swimming lessons
We teach swimming lessons year-round, both on weekends and during the week.  Lessons at our warm water studio are offered all 12 months out of the year! We firmly believe that just like any other skill your child masters, swim lesson progress relies greatly on consistency, which is why we encourage our lesson participants to continue with our lessons during the typical “non swimming” months of winter. Practicing year round provides your child with the opportunity to build and perfect their skills, and progress much more quickly into a proficient swimmer.

How long are your lessons?
All of our children’s lessons are 30 minutes long.

What options are offered in terms of class sizes?
We currently only offer private lessons, with semi-private and small group scheduled via request only. For semi-private and small group lessons, registering families must provide the additional swimmers.

Explain your curriculum
Excel offers its own curriculum specific to child development by promoting incremental independence in the water. Our lessons are separated in six levels, starting with beginner swimmers with little to no exposure to the water, all the way up swimmers who are fully independent and are refining their skills, while learning elements of competitive swimming.

How long will it take before my child moves to the next level?
Our program is set up in a perpetual lesson environment, meaning that each week your child shall cover the same skills within their level based on our curriculum. Once your child has covered each of the objectives in their respective level, and is able to demonstrate the advancement skills, they will be eligible to move to the next level. Every swimmer is different, and takes their own time in learning new skills. **Please keep in mind that all achievement skills accomplished will be at the discretion of the instructors and supervisory staff**

What should I bring to lessons?
Required items include a bathing suit, towel, and swim diapers for those swimmers who are not yet toilet trained. Goggles for lessons are not required, but highly recommended.

What is your swimsuit and swim diaper policy?
Anyone entering the pool is required to wear appropriate swim apparel. Street clothing is not permitted. All students who are not fully potty-trained are required to wear a reusable (non- disposable) swim diaper. Disposable swim diapers (such as Lil’ Swimmers) can and should be worn under the non-disposable swim diaper. Reusable diapers have a tighter fit, which helps to avoid accidents in our pools. A swimsuit or a pair of shorts should be worn over the diaper. Even a small accident in the pool can close the pool down for as long as 24 hours. If your student is not potty-trained they will be required to wear one (1) disposable swim diaper and one (1) snug fitting reusable diaper. If in doubt, PLEASE do not take the chance. If swimmers who require swim diapers is found not to be wearing both diapers, they will not be permitted to take the class until the issue is resolved.

What age should I enroll my child in lessons?
Our learn to swim program is designed for children ages 3 years and up.

I would like to enroll my child in adaptive lessons. Can I just enroll him/her in a private lesson slot?
No-our adaptive program has specific staff trained to work with children with special needs. By enrolling in a private lesson slot, we cannot guarantee the correct staff member will be scheduled to work with your child. To enroll your child in adaptive lessons, please visit our adaptive lessons program page to view available slots.

Will my child have the same instructor each lesson?
While we work to keep swimmers with their favorite instructors, we do not/cannot guarantee the same staff week to week or class to class. With our extensive staff training protocol coupled with the three skills per level covered weekly with each swimmer, we are confident that children can still obtain excellent progress even with instructor changes.

How do I register for kid’s precompetitive lessons?
Registration is completed right HERE on our lessons program page. Class openings are categorized by day and time. Each month we post the available openings for the upcoming month.
