Unfortunately today we have a very small window to write this post, so we’ll keep this short and sweet….
Men’s 200 Breaststroke
1-Kevin Cordes
2-Will Licon
Josh Prenot will certainly be in the mix, but we think Cordes is the sure fire winner, with Licon having enough previous success in LC to edge out Prenot and make the team…
Women’s 200 Fly Final
1-Cammile Adams
2-Haili Flickinger
Adams has a great back half of her race, and should be able to bring it home for the W. Flickinger has some good front half speed, and we think she will push the first 100 enough to create enough space for that 2nd place spot. Cassidy Bayer will also be out front, and could very well sneak past Haili for 2nd, but as of right now, our gut is Hali 2, Bayer 3.
Men’s 100 Fr
1) Nathan Adrian
2) Caeleb Dressel
Thus far in prelims and semis, Nathan Adrian has shown that he is the defending Olympic gold medalist by separating himself from the rest of the field by over half a second. However, we think Dressel has another gear he is yet to tap into, and will be out pretty quick the first 50 tonight, and give Nathan a run for his money….
On a side note, here is a great video of Matt Grevers announcing his potential retirement from the sport of swimming-
It is always admirable to listen to athletes who not only win with class, but lose with class as well. Matt has proven to be a great role model and steward for the sport of swimming for the past 8 years, and we wish him nothing but the best for the future.
