Pre-Competitive Swimming
Excel Aquatics is excited to offer a pre-competitive program at our Colonie swim studio for young swimmers, ages 6 and up who have a firm grasp of competitive Freestyle and Backstroke, and are interested in exploring the world of competitive swimming. Practices are 45 minutes in length.
Learn the Basics of Competitive Swimming
Excel Aquatics’ pre-competitive program is a great way for children to learn competitive swimming basics with a group of peers without the commitment that comes with being on a competitive team. This is a multi-week program focused on teaching and refining all 4 swim strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly, and Breaststroke), maintaining a healthy exercise routine in a supportive atmosphere, and most of all having fun. Coaches work with swimmers both in and out of the water to ensure proper and complete instruction.

Pre-Competitive Practices
Registrations & Payment
Registrations must be completed online (on this page), and prior to attending classes. You MUST register online in order to attend a practice or program. Payments are processed at the time of enrollment.
As our Precompetitive Lessons are one of our weekly swim programs, tuition is billed on a monthly cycle. The first month of billing begins at the time of registration and is billed on the first of the month thereafter. Each month is billed based on the number of scheduled classes for that given month. Families are billed monthly until they choose to withdraw; families can review our withdrawal policy here.
